Could you be the perfect fit for this interesting and rewarding position?
Local charity, Manx Children’s Art Therapy (MCAT), is looking for a new Director to join its Board and play a key role in making a difference to the Island’s children and young people who need Art Therapy services.
Children’s Art Therapy is a valuable clinical service provided to youngsters who are overwhelmed with emotions when encountering difficult situations in their life – such as long- term medical or mental health conditions. MCAT was set up on the Isle of Man to help young people to access these services which help improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, as it is often easier for children to express their feelings indirectly through artwork. The charity recently received community funding to kickstart a series of Journaling Workshops. In these workshops, children and young people can record and express their emotions in a therapeutic way through images, art and words.
Collectively, the Board of Directors sets the policy and direction of the charity. For this voluntary appointment, the new Director should be someone with:
- Dedication
- Capability,
- A commitment to children and their welfare
- The desire to guide the charity to provide high quality clinical services to young people in need.
Additionally, experience in Art Therapy, or an artistic or therapeutic background would be very helpful, and a commitment to the charity’s core values and principles is essential.
Board meetings are held every other month with input into other work on an ad hoc basis.
